Teams

Tryouts
Open tryouts are held in early to mid March, during which each player is evaluated. There are a minimum of two tryouts per age group. We encourage all players to attend each tryout, as this gives them the best opportunity to shine. At the end of the tryouts, the coaches adjourn and select their respective teams and notify the players.

Practice
The Hawks consider practice to be a vital component of our program. All of the Hawks' teams utilize the same concepts of an open, equal-opportunity offense and an intense, aggressive, pressing team defense. This allows the players to develop and move up within the program, while mastering the system and perfecting their skills.

Practices are very intense. Each player is expected to give 100% during practice, as this contributes to their development, earns recognition from their coaching staff and eventually impacts playing time in games. Our program is about teaching the game of basketball; this includes the skills and techniques required to compete at a very high level and the practice ethic necessary to accomplish this goal. We emphasize learning the game, competing at a very high level, while displaying good sportsmanship.

Regular Teams vs. Select Teams
Players of the Hawks are selected by the coaching staff of their respective age group. Each grade-level is designated a Regular Team; however, a special player may also be chosen to participate on a Select Team if he or she presents the advanced skill-level and a great attitude within her/his designated Regular Team. The Hawks' Select Teams will further compete in various national level tournaments in other states, in addition to the Tri-State area.

Our Coaches
All of the Hawks' coaches are dedicated and experienced basketball individuals, who have demonstrated a proven commitment to basketball and the instruction of student athletes. Our organization holds child safety as a top priority, and all of our coach undergo an extensive background check before joining the Hawks. We aim to provide the best instructional talent to help your child succeed in the program, as an athlete and as a person.
